Quests
I believe in intense, self-directed study to learn complex topics, with consistent application and practice going forward to maintain and deepen knowledge of the topic. The results of focused intensity on a specific task or challenge have proven the best way to learn and pick up new tools for me, and I am starting to document my quests and be more intentional about how I spend my time learning new things.
QUEST 1: MASTER OF APPLIED ECONOMICS IN 3 MONTHS
QUEST: to independently complete Johns Hopkins Master of Applied Economics in 3 months
Timeline: October 1 - January 17 (2 weeks break in Dec pushed to Jan)
The program is designed for students to complete the coursework in 12-24 months, but I plan to accomplish all readings and learnings (syllabi are posted online) in three months. To be clear, at the completion of this quest, I will not have a Johns Hopkins degree; rather, I will have the knowledge of a Johns Hopkins Master of Applied Economics graduate based on the materials and books that I study during the quest.
There are 10 courses required to complete the program; I will complete all the readings and studies for 20 courses (additional 10 electives). I am following the syllabi as closely as possible and will adjust as needed as I move through the course.
My schedule for completion of the program is below;
